Summertime!
The garden is going great! There is only one complication! But boy is it a biggy! We might get flooded! My onions are the size of baseballs & my potatoes are new potato size & larger. It looks like I will be working in the garden most of this week.
I have been working on a rag rug for 2 weeks now & am getting to a good size. It takes time to tear the strips & sew them together & then to crochet them. I am enjoying turning an old set of my favorite sheets into something more useful. How many of you can remember your grandmothers "making do"? Taking old worn out items & remaking them into something useful again? Maybe quilts, rugs, pillows, etc. It seems in this throwaway society we just toss it & buy new! I love to reuse, make do, use it up or do without!

Aprons
I have my mom's apron that she wore when I was a kid. It is very threadbare but I still use it. It is one I remember being allowed to wear when I helped in the kitchen. It is red flowered & has a pocket. It brings back fond memories of cooking lessons and meals together with my family. I have made many aprons since then & have quite a collection of old ones. I am always amazed that soemone could get rid of an apron. Doesn't it hold memories? How many of you have meories of an apron in your family? Maybe your grandmother or mom's? Let me know some of your stories.

Still at work!
Ashley has agreed to do some of the rose petals.YEAH! It will go much faster that way. We (Mike, Ashley & I) went to the courthouse & got the marriage license the other day so she has another project marked off her to do list.
As you can see on the sidebar I have added some vintage & antique pieces that are for sale! I also have some knitted baby items for new heirlooms. They make great baby shower gifts! The depression ware is in the green Block Optic pattern. If you are interested in any of the items email me at evanglicalchurchkw@yahoo.com.

Summertime!
This summer is going to be a busy one. I am currently working on rose petals for Ashley's wedding. We have bags of them! She wants them laced with green! I have set myself up at the table & am making myself do at least 10 a day! At this rate it will take me most of this month! As you can see I have added to my items for sale on the side bar! Email me with any questions at evangelicalchurchkw@yahoo.com.

Where has all the time gone?
This week left little time to work on heirlooms. The garden needed tending & my grandson needed holding! I have gotten a lot done but not what I wanted. I will have to put this on my to do list or it will not get done. Oh how awful procrastination is!!!
